every time dilbert gets mentioned in a conversation/post i think about how hilarious it is that scott adams turned out to be such a deranged alt-right fuckwit, considering the fact that his comics indisputably radicalized me against capitalism as a kid and probably did so earlier than anything else
like there IS some pretty iffy stuff in dilbert for sure (particularly a lot of casual misogyny and xenophobia), and it definitely increased over time as the author got more edgy and self-important. i don't think i read anything from later than like 2003 and it was already starting to get pretty unreadable by then - LONG before he started openly being a turbo-racist podcaster weirdo. but the earlier stuff (especially before there were a lot of established recurring characters or running gags) was largely just a satirical cartoon focused on how corporations are evil and exploitative, and how you'd have to be completely detached from reality to truly enjoy working for them, and how trying to climb the ladder of success is a futile pursuit within a capitalist society where the upper class needs to keep pulling that ladder up behind them to keep the rest of us in our place and maintain their own status. it was basically vent art by a guy stuck working in mind-numbing desk jobs, who barely knew how to draw but just wanted to get his thoughts out and reach other people who were frustrated in the same ways he was. it's really weird but also fascinating to compare that to how it (and adams himself) ended up in the long run
i don't think it was particularly funny most of the time, and when it did have actual jokes, they were often pretty mean-spirited and/or cynical. i don't remember more than one or two specific bits from the comic that actually ever made me laugh, and i read a LOT of them as a kid (my grandpa had a massive collection of newspaper comic compilation books at his house that he'd let me look through and borrow stuff from - this is also how i discovered garfield and calvin & hobbes). but i DO remember having it instilled in me from an early age that there was nothing really exciting or praiseworthy about grinding your life away for a company that profits off your skilled labor and gives you pennies in return - which is especially noteworthy considering i was also raised by mormons, who are famously all about that "nobility in suffering" and "work your way to heaven" type bullshit. i'm genuinely unsure how this happened
anyways i think scott adams would probably piss his pants and explode if he ever took a break from peddling his psychic penis hypnosis and killer burrito podcasts long enough to seriously think about any of this stuff. (and i hope he does. it would be funnier than anything he's ever written.)

Any ML characters that you do think are overhated?
No one really comes to mind. While I end up defending Marinette the most, I'm more critical of specific criticisms or the way the criticisms are handled than I am of the fact that people can't stand her or any other character. Almost every significant character has come across as pretty terribly at one point or another and I understand why some viewers can't look past those bad writing choices. Many side characters have also done questionable things. Off to top of my head, here are some flaws that are understandably hard to overlook:
Alya blindly believing everything Lila says and dismissing Marinette's concerns, especially after the reveal of Ladybug's identity
Nino outing Alya's identity to Adrien and never telling her (Rocketear), then doing it again in public without asking her permission (Illusion)
Adrien pushing for Ladynoir in spite of Ladybug's multiple requests that he stop
Marinette using her trauma as an excuse for her inability to treat Adrien as a normal human being
The entire miracuclass trying to force Marinette and Adrien to kiss while they watch
Everything Nathalie did - or more damningly didn't do - in season five
Any and all of these things are understandably off-putting. While I don't particularly like pure salt fics, I do get why they exist. Sometimes you just need an outlet to express your frustration! I do it via this blog, but I don't judge anyone for doing it via a vent fic instead. I just get concerned when the annoyance and anger leads to poor media literacy where people act as if these characters are real people doing real things. They're not. They're puppets controlled by poor-quality puppet masters.
Along the same lines, I also get annoyed when people pick and choose which jokes to take at face value, when people hold different characters to wildly different standards, or when people act like their favorite is the biggest victim of the bad writing. They're all victims at this point. There's no point debating who got it worse. It's not going to fix the issues. At this point, I don't think that anything can. The last two seasons made the flaws too deep. The only way to make the story work is a full reboot.
That's why this is a writing salt, character sugar blog. I'm not here to defend the writing or tell you that the characters have done nothing wrong. I'm here to defend the basic story setup and explain why the problems all fall at the feet of the writers. This isn't the kind of story where it is intentionally making you hate the characters. Outside of Chloe and Lila, you are supposed to like basically the entire cast. It's embarrassing how hard the writers failed at that assignment.

SPOILERS FOR LUCANIS ROMANCE
So i finished the game yesterday and i have to admit that i am pretty disappointed with how they handled his romance.
It severely lacks in reactivity from him because it really feels like he doesn’t have a response written in to some of the flirting and just continues talking. He has very short scenes and very few outings as opposed to other characters so it never really feels like there is enough happening in the relationship and the moments he does get are very underwhelming save the end game convos and the “backing away from flirting” scene.
His lock in scene was very awkward I was surprised that was the lock in romance scene at all and after that you get absolutely nothing with him. One coffee scene that is about him and spite that has a minuscule ending thing about you and until the end of the game that’s all you get. Even his combat dialogue stays pretty much the same, the stuff added you can’t even tell are romance specific.
(I love Neve and am not bashing on here but it was damn annoying)
Now i love his ending convos but the way you get there is dissatisfying to say the least. I filled in so much with headcanons and I shouldn’t have to.
I have to say even without the romance i think his lack of content does him a great disservice, just comparing how much you can talk with davrin or harding is wild. It feels like outside of him liking coffee and being a professional assassin they didn’t really know what to do with him.
Now i would definitely blame the lay offs for this but the fact that they managed to write out his relationship with Neve makes me feel a bit otherwise. And Mary Kirby has stated that she doesn’t like writing romance but the build up to his character really leads to very little.
This is just my little rant because I really do love the game, and when his scenes are good they are REALLY good, i adore his ending conversations but man, it’s just disappointing and frustrating getting there.
There is so much potential and stuff to work with and they just… did nothing. I’ll headcanon a lot and think of the wigmakers job to compensate i guess.
I don’t like being negative online, there is enough of that going around but i wanted to vent.

It’s my party, and I’ll cry if I want to
Spencer Reid x reader
Synopsis: Your birthday is definitely not a joyous occasion for you. Luckily, your cute neighbour might just make it a little better.
wc: 825
cw: kind of hurt/comfort, can be read as platonic, no gendered pronouns (if i remember correctly) but reader own a skirt, pretty short, open ending-ish, reader is straight up not having a good time, but nothing extra happens, oh and reader is in college/uni
a/n: guess who’s turning 22 in less than half an hour!! 🧌 this is mostly a vent fic, but i just made up some parts to make it less personal lol. um but yea, I wish I had Spencer Reid to cheer me up on my not-so-good bday (even though it’s not technically my bday yet)
also!!! i realised that i’m not the best at writing fluff, but if you guys want a smutty continuation to this, feel free to yell at me in my inbox 🧚♀️ oh and my wips are still cooking, it’s just busy season at uni for me #businessmajor

Arriving back at your apartment, you all but slammed your bag down next to the shoe rack, before kicking off your converse like a fussy toddler. Tears were already clouding your vision, hot, angry, frustrated, making your vision blurry as you trudged deeper into your home.
You flopped down onto your couch, face down, tears silently pouring out of your eyes. You stayed like that for approximately thirty seconds, before springing up with a gasp, realising that your wet, runny makeup was soaking into the throw pillow’s fabric — a fuzzy, dusty pink, because of course it had to be a light colour.
You stood up from your couch, beginning to pace the carpeted floor of your living room, while your hands rubbed your face, further smudging your already murky makeup. Your fingers slid into your hair, grasping at your messy strands, before you finally sank down into a sitting position, on the edge of the couch.
And then you just lost it. Your sobs filled your otherwise quiet apartment, the sound so broken and pitiful, that if someone overheard, they’d think you just received the worst news of your life. Your shoulders shook with the force of your sobs, your body trembling from the sheer sadness and irritation you were experiencing.
It was your birthday. Something that was supposed to be a joyous occasion, and yet, it always ended up being the most cursed part of your year. You woke up with sore joints, the kind that even your morning yoga routine couldn’t quite fix. Then, you burnt your scrambled eggs, and fixing that mess made you late for class —a lecture that you already really didn’t want to attend. It was nearing final’s season, which was a constant, added layer of stress as well, and you were up to your ears with studying and assignments and deadlines.
Your mood was already sour, and it seemed like the universe was only trying to test your limits further. The barista got your order wrong, and then acted all pissy when you dared to complain. You had a fight with one of your friends, then another altercation with another one of your friends.
And the very worst thing, that ruined your mood whenever it crossed your mind: your skirt. Specifically, your vintage Gerry Weber skirt, that was used to be in perfect condition, despite the fact that you had found it at a thrift store for one (1!) dollar, on sale. It was your pride and your joy. Until yesterday, when you put it into the washing machine, and it came out five sizes smaller, and with the underskirt hanging out on the bottom. Ruined. Just like your life.
You were considering ordering some unhealthy takeout and a bottle – or two – of wine, just to dull your sorrows a little, when you heard a knock on your door. You raised your head from your hands, sniffling in confusion. You weren’t expecting anyone —if you had, you wouldn’t have let yourself end up looking like a pitiful mess.
You were considering ignoring it, but then whoever was on the other side decided to knock again. You stood up with a shaky sigh, trying to wipe your face with the sleeves of your sweater, in the hopes of looking less ghastly when you opened the door.
Whoever you were – or weren’t – expecting, it definitely wasn’t your very pretty, very awkward looking neighbour, who was shifting from one foot to the other in front of your doorway.
“Spencer?” You asked, like you couldn’t quite believe your eyes. Your voice was rough, hoarse and wet from all the crying and the force of your sobs.
“Yeah, hi. Uhm, I was just stopping by to say happy birthday, but… Are you okay?”
He sounded so sweet, so genuine in his concern, that it tugged on your heartstrings. But what really did it was the fact that he remembered your birthday. He remembered, and he cared enough to show up at your door, to wish you a happy birthday, despite his hectic schedule. Despite the fact that the two of you have only spoken a handful of times before, in the past three months that you’ve been living next to him.
“Do you want to come in?” You asked, the words leaving your mouth before your brain could even register them. “I mean, you don’t have to, of course. I know that you’re super busy, I just–“
“Sure,” he cut off your rambling with a small, charmingly awkward smile. “I have a feeling that we could both use some company.”
And so you stepped to the side with a small, but genuine smile, letting him enter your apartment.
Sure, you didn’t particularly like your birthday. It somehow always ended up being the shittiest part of your year. But if it ended with your sweet, endearingly nerdy neighbour in your living room, well… Maybe it wasn’t the worst day of your life, after all.

some LU headshots in my style for personal reference. subject to change bc drawing consistently is a bitch but overall i think i’m happy w them! (ignore the comic/writing idea in the upper right corner it may or may not be made into a full think idk yet—)
typed notes for each lu member + a little extra below cut
wild—
oval eyes
rounder oval ((ish)) face
amber earrings
healed scarring
androgynous
i tried to reference the boys’ canonical character models to individualize their features more. i love botw and totk sm but personally i’m not the hugest fan of the way the characters look for it? even so, i think the rounder sort of eye shape works really well for my wild
his colors specifically i drew to be a bit more sunset kissed/orangeish bc i was referencing a wild photo in which the time was sunset. thats abt it. but i think it’s really pretty on him so i’m probably just keeping that whenever i draw wild
warriors—
cheek bones/jawline
rounder ears
pointy eyes ((eyeliner that could stab a person))
cheek scar bc i felt like it
i stole away some of wars’ side fringes, forgive me i couldn’t decide whether i wanted them to cover up his jawline and chickened out. if anyone actually read the comic thing you’ll see smth abt the old man and wars talking abt how his hair parted to the other side of his face during the war. i made it to ‘vent my frustrations’ bc i drew his hair part referencing HW photos of link instead of LU wars and it’s now become my headcanon.
his hair color is vivid bc HW color pallet is pretty damn vivid and his eyes & earrings are a deeper blue to match his scarf. color coordination!
anw he’s a pretty boy so i made him pretty — that’s pretty much the rest i have to say abt that
time—
tired eyes
longest ears
(slight) rbf
both time & legend have half circle/oval eyes ((kind of. at least that’s what i tried to go for to give them a more worn/serious look))
i’m not the best with differentiating ages. i tried to make him look a bit more worn/oldest but i also wanted all of them to still carry some of that classic pretty boy link look. don’t have much else to say but he has the longest/angular ears bc fairy boy. let’s pretend four’s don’t look longer than his i drew him later and forgot
twilight—
<-takes more features from malon ((who i haven’t drawn yet so you don’t have any reference on that))
pretty boy face (wasn’t intentional but it is what it is)
twilight princess link is v pretty. twilights usually one of the more rugged (for lack of a better term) looking ones bc he’s among the taller ones/apart of the “adult” squad but i accidentally made him very pretty looking. oops. don’t know if that will remain consistent for him if i draw him more so we shall see
him and time share less features than i might’ve wanted? you can see a bit of time’s jaw in the way his face curves but overall they don’t share many features. again, he takes more after malon. but their hair textures are incredibly similar if that means anything
gave him jade studs bc they reminded him of midna and are practical enough that he can just keep them in the whole time (bc he will lose them or forget abt them if he takes them off)
sky—
rounder face
big eyes
lips
big ears
his hair color was a bitch to get right im not sorry i had to say it color is so hard to work with. in any case! skyward sword link has bigger looking eyes cus of the style and i just ran w that. his earrings are magenta to match sun’s dress but look red when the light catches them right (or wrong ig bc they look red in dim light too) just bc i realized his earrings were red to match his outfit/crimson.
sky and the next three (everyone sans wind) probly look the least off their character models
legend—
oval iris
full rbf
multiple piercings ((this is important for u to know))
longer narrow face & features
boy’s a strawberry blond bc i said so. and also legend purple eyes propaganda. i don’t know where exactly that originated but like i love it and im on board. he also has purple stud earrings he always keeps in — curious, isn’t it. he probably has more than i gave him but well, thats all i gave him. it gets the picture across. hc that legend realized he couldn’t get more fingers for his rings but he could get more piercings that could handle jewelry that did almost exactly the same thing. practicality!
also i couldn’t decide on legend’s hair length. its all hidden by that hat of his so i just… didn’t draw the back half portion of his hair. does that make my legend bald at the back of his head? you decide.
hyrule—
wide face narrow chin
freckles!!!
bigger earlobes
the earlobes is me projecting /hj but i tried to reference the og link’s face shape for him which idk if i like yet. he has freckles and more accent colors in his hair and eyes which is a subtle thing but a sorta maybe reference to his fairy magic. no piercings for him! i forgot them/didnt see them on og link and can’t really imagine when hyrule would ever get the time to pierce them so he and wind can do that together eventually to bond. legend will do it probly — he obviously has the experience and wild can’t be trusted (offered to pierce winds ears with a knife canonically)
wind—
big eyes
void eyes
big ears but rounder than skys
soft face
fluffy hair
wind’s 100 yard stare *does* things to the chain but none of them tell him that because he’d definitely use it to freak people out. i couldnt decide between going lighter sun bleached hair wind or bright blinding yellow toon link hair so i kind of meshed them together to create that. tried to make him the youngest looking
four—
symmetrical angles ((and then i drew a polygon quadrilateral bc thats the shape i used as a reference)) for cheeks and eyes
minish feather ((earring))
minish ears & nose
hime bangs
yk the picture of a minish that comes up when googled? thats what i used as a reference for his features. ears specifically, nose somewhat. four’s eyes are usually the greyish hazel color you get from mixing all of their colors together but i liked the split look for this piece more. his hair color is also wind’s but inverted so wind’s lights are four’s highlights and his darks make up the brunt of the base color as a slight reference to how it’s occasionally theorized/hc that wind is four’s descendant.
and the hime bangs were bc i wanted a little more “link side fringe” variation and i thought the sort of straight cut looked nice. hime bangs are not the right term tho bc he parts them to the side and doesn’t have that straight cut on his forehead but i’m too lazy to fight the correct term
— thank u for reading, go hydrate and eat if you have not <3

Do you really feel good about yourself appearing in other people's publications where no one called you out or tagged you to defend a fictional character that others have every right to express dislike and even hate for?
You have fun acting innocent and saying you have good intentions, but you're belittling and devaluing the feelings of people who just want to vent a bit in their own personal space through opinions that don't hurt anyone. And if you find them by "coincidence", you can just ignore them or even block them if they get on your nerves.
I'd totally get it if one of them popped up on your blog or in one of your posts. You'd 100% have the right to defend your favourite baby. But showing up out of the blue in someone else's post, where they're just sharing their thoughts and feelings? And you're basically telling them, in a pretty subtle way, that they're not that clued up about the show or don't get the characters, just because they don't watch them the same way you do? It's honestly so frustrating and cringe. Especially because you hide those intentions behind nice words. Pathetic.
I really hope you're a child, because it's even more pathetic when an adult wastes their time doing what you do.
Whooooaaa.
I wouldn’t talk about childish attitude when you walk up to someone anonymously and start insulting them and belittling them back.
You have a completely valid argument if you have proof, and I don’t blame you for thinking like this, but if you want to see something done, give some constructive criticism.
speak without hiding, and actually be constructive.
If you believe I’m doing something wrong, instead of spitting out words like “pathetic” and “I hope you’re a child”, how about saying “Hey, I don’t believe you’re acting appropriately and I believe [this] is a solution.”
I am not acting stern in this post to be stern, but only to match a limited amount of the energy you are throwing at me.
I am not belittling anyone. I haven’t fully talked about this since this is a fresh blog, but I have repeated time and time again whenever I ramble that my “excitement”, my “anger” or other extreme emotions all are fully “in-character”, to which I also haven’t defined on this new blog.
When I am passionate about a certain character, my arguments on them, my analyzing on them, I am speaking of them as if I was a character in-the-show witnessing the same bs I rant about. I do this to combat VA / writer hate, because everyone knows that’s a problem here.
I do not belittle people for having opinions, I make counter arguments. Anyone I reblog and ramble, (1) I disclaim “this just gives me a excuse to ramble”, (2) I always bring up good points or other perspectives to combat my ideas to help give a productive ramble, (3), I disclaim “hey! You don’t even gotta read this!” Because my blog is full of analyzing and rambles, because that’s what I enjoy doing.
If you have any direct evidence to me belittling someone, hating someone, or otherwise, please provide me with evidence, and I’ll correct it either in the post, or in the future.
Whether I have properly disclaimed it in my ramble posts, or I’ve let it slip a few times, here is my full disclaimer.
The interpretations I make of any fictional media are completely and entirely my own. I encourage you to make your own opinions, but to always be open minded to new perspectives. I encourage challenging opinions to embrace new ones - for yourself, and the other.
I am passionate about “my favorite baby” because I directly see myself and my issues through them. I have grown so emotionally attached to Eclipse and/or Ruin specifically because I feel I have lived parallels of their lives, and it makes me feel seen and understood. Therefore, by speaking on their behalf, I have an opportunity to speak for my own.
Reblogs I ramble under have playful replies from OP. I try to be playful back. I like to verbally roughhouse with people to create an emotional bond with someone. I believe it is fun, and I do it in moderation whether I know the creator or not.
Everyone I have reblogged and rambled under (as far as I currently remember, show me if you have evidence otherwise.) has greeted me by name, rambled back, and either returned the playful gestures or has engaged in a full conversation with me, bouncing off both of our opinions, and enjoying our time.
For ANYONE, if I have reblogged to you, rambling, or mentioned you and rambled about your perspective and giving my own…AND YOU FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE IN ANY WAY, please do not stay quiet or play along. Tell me, and I will correct it. I understand not everyone may enjoy it. A lot of people I talk to do.
Ranting is half of this blog. Art is the other. It’s what I enjoy doing. Seeing perspectives is an opportunity for me to fulfill some of the blog. I don’t even do it [reblog + ramble] often, it’s a relatively new thing for me. I typically make isolated rants, and have only started reblogging and replying recently. I rant often because part of being in this show is hyper analyzing characters.
I also enjoy rambling, because comments are something that means a lot to me. When I am reblogged and someone else starts rambling under my own posts, I feel encouraged. I think it’s amazing to see perspectives whether they’re similar or different to mine. It’s how I’ve learned about a lot of character throughout this fandom
I typically only focus on a select few, but I enjoy delving into other characters as well.
I “hate” Moon in-character. I “hate” Moon from TSAMS because of the inaction he did for Eclipse and Sun in numerous scenarios. I still delve into his character, I appreciate his character, and I enjoy making things for said character. From a writer/viewer standpoint, I do not genuinely hate a single character, nor anyone for liking a character I don’t.
I was infuriated with Nexus for a long time from a writer standpoint until a friend of mine helped me further dissect his character. Now I love him. I used to hate Solar with every atom in my body, writer and in-character, and then I learned to realize he’s not just some one-off character I should hate. He, along with everyone else, has effort put into him.
I do not give a single damn if you hate a character I love for whatever reason. My goal is to change your mind, not because “actually you should love this character”, but because
How are you supposed to enjoy anything if you keep finding reasons to hate it?
It doesn’t matter if it’s low effort, sloppy, clickbait, overused.
This is one of the biggest issues here, blunt hate on characters and writing.
You want something done about the content farm slop you’re forcing yourself to gobble? Do something about it. That’s what I’m doing. This is how I enjoy things.
If you are stern in your position, comfortable in it, I’m not going to reblog every single post you have and say “erm actually love this character please please I’m so desperate for you to listen to me pleasee!”
I DON’T CARE??? I would LOVE to influence the fandom considering how downright ass it is - [ Misogyny, ableism, hate, anti-constructive criticism, harmful mischaracterization, etc. ] - but I’m not going to grab every person by the throat and shove my ideas down it.
I am spilling my ideas out into the open, in my own blog. It’s your choice to read it or not.
Respectively, you cannot pray I am an adult, when you yourself, are taking time out of your day to hop on Tumblr, walk to their inbox, put on “appear as anonymous”, and write ~4 paragraphs insulting them and putting them down.
Because ranting at someone in this manner IS a sign of immaturity. Please take that into consideration the next time you want to critique something. Approach calmly with evidence. Drop the subtle insults.
Next time, please be more professional if you have a problem. This is not helping anyone. You have not given me any solutions, nor proof that I am making anyone uncomfortable - which is never my goal.
I am not claiming innocence. I am aware I can be tone deaf sometimes, or act awkwardly under pressure, or get too rowdy. I understand very well I have room for improvement. But I need YOUR help to improve, not just passive aggressive paragraphs in my inbox.
Thank you for your input. I am always open to suggestions.

It seems like you somehow manage to have one foot in the marauders fandom and one in the snape fandom and I’m so impressed. How do you do it?
Also, since you get to see both sides of things I’m wondering what you like the most about each fandom?
Ok this is an interesting question! Honestly I think I’m able to do this, and do this enjoyably, because I really try to make an effort to not moralize. This hasn’t always been how I interacted with fiction in the past, so it’s been a tricky process of learning how to do this with consistency. But it is something that I think is very important for me to do, not only because I have a better time in fandom when I'm not moralizing, but also because it inspires a sort of self reflection and allows me to practice empathy in a way that’s feels more analytical than emotional/inherent. And in the case of navigating two fandoms that have a built in tension between them, this becomes especially helpful.
The tension between the snape and marauders fandom almost always comes down to moralizing. The back and forth arguments between fans are usually rooted in the idea that the other character is not only morally flawed, but more morally flawed than theirs. If you look at any anti Snape or anti James post there’s an underlying agenda that’s trying to prove one is worse than the other. This is pretty irritating to me because I find it to be very boring, silly, and just missing the point of the characters and themes. But this is also irritating because I find that it's ineffective in producing any real meaningful analysis on these characters. Because the goal is not to understand that character, but to condemn them.
(This doesn’t mean that I think you shouldn’t examine the behavior of the characters, just that assigning a moral judgment to that behavior outside the world of that character leads to heavily biased analysis (meaning making it personal and about your standard of morality leads to a messy understanding of the character and story))
Going back to the tension between these fandoms, I think when you’re busy trying to prove how shitty a fictional character is you have a hard time separating them from their fans. Because it’s not really about the character anymore it’s about you and your personal feelings and beliefs.
I very frequently run into posts talking about “snape defenders” and “marauders defenders”, like this is some kind of battle where a side needs to be picked, and then picking a side is a reflection of your morality and politics (I’ve seen marauders fans imply that “snape defenders” are fascists or fascist sympathizers and I’ve seen snape fans call marauders fans “class traitors”, all in the last couple days mind you).
I’m going to be honest and say that whenever this pops up it’s gets pretty frustrating, frustrating because it feels like people are just using these characters as avatars for larger discussions they actually want to be having, but because these characters have specific stories, motivations, and complexities it makes this extremely messy (want to vent about the cult of conservatism that's growing all around us? Bring out the Snape Ken doll and talk about how he deserved his bullying (if he even was bullied)! Hate feeling the weight of capitalism on your chest while the class divide grows larger and larger? Call James “bourgeois scum”!)
(Or as @sideprince wisely said, it’s a way to be political without actually engaging in politics)
So yes I find this tiring, but I also really get it. I have done some form of this myself plenty of times. I am not immune to moralizing or having these same type of strong emotional reactions to a fictional character. In fact, I had this very recently when I watched “Girls” for the first time last month. Until maybe this week I felt a strong hatred for the character “Adam”. This hatred came from seeing him do something in a scene that I considered to be morally repugnant. The scene itself was incredibly graphic and triggering to the point where I had to stop watching the show for a couple days. The disgust response firing in my brain made it so I was incapable of viewing his character as anything but a POS, and all the complexities of him were lost because I refused to engage with them. So all his actions after that were viewed with a moral judgement from me. I mean even when he was being funny, sweet, or just interesting I felt incredibly annoyed because I desperately didn’t want to like him. However I was cognizant of the fact that I was having this sort of moral reaction to fiction because this is a show that is defined by its complex, complicated, and realistic characters, who have all done some very questionable things, and yet he was the only character getting this treatment in my head. So feeling frustrated with my own hypocrisy I decided that I needed to start approaching this differently.
So I made a choice to look at his action, the one that I found disgusting, and start breaking it down: Why did he do that? What was it saying about his relation to shame, power, control, violence, sex, gender, etc.? How else has he reacted to those issues in the show? I kept asking those types of questions, on and on, until suddenly I wasn’t just thinking about the disgusting act itself, but the character. The act stopped being about my own feelings and trauma and became about him.
That’s what I do with the marauders and snape, that’s what I strive to do with any fictional character, because to me that’s the most enjoyable way to engage with fiction. And I find that the fun I have in fandom is greatly limited when I’m pissed at a character, because it makes it difficult to interact with others who are their fans. If I see that someone is playing with that character, a little voice would go, “but what about my anger?” followed by a sharp sting. That type of anger, that moral anger, is personal, but this character is public, it lives beyond me and my feelings. My anger is mine, it never belonged to the public.
And I have at some point felt that same type of moral disgust/anger for both the marauders and snape. But I zeroed in on what specific action was making me feel that way, tried to understand why I had that reaction in the first place, and then went back to the action itself and tried to contextualize it within the character and story so it was removed from myself.
That’s how I’ve been helping myself with the moralizing issue. I’ll still have these reactions in the future, I might even have one on here, but I'll keep working on it. Because either way I love all of these characters and I want to continue to be able to exist in both fandoms without having to choose a side, or even lean a certain way. When you're not trying to win the war on which character was the Shittiest™ the pressure turns off and you can just enjoy these multifaceted characters with their many flaws and many strengths.
And as for what I like most about each fandom: I adore the snapedom because I've always felt that the best meta in the entire hp fandom came from there. Honestly the whole reason I love snape so much wasn't because I ever felt particularly identified with him, but because I read a billion incredible metas and analyses about him and truly came to appreciate his complexities.
For the marauders side I think I really enjoy the camaraderie, there are a lot of really sweet and cool people I’ve talked to on here and that's always been a blast!
#this got longer than expected#but honestly I wanted to talk about a lot of this for a while#also another tip to help with moralizing is acknowledge that characters and their actions exist to move the plot forward#this is helpful because it appeals to your rationality but I also realize this issue is strongly motivated by emotion#so it only helps so much#so I just do a combo of that and what I mentioned above#asks#severus snape#the marauders#James potter#Sirius black#Remus lupin#peter pettigrew#marauders

hi would like to make this clear that this is gonna be an unhinged rant about my college classes.
For context, one of my classes is a semester-long group project (hell) and I pitched the idea of solar powered community fridges to my group and we rolled with it. Here's a post i made on it previously. We don't have to make the fridges themselves, basically just talk about the problem our concept addresses (food insecurity in this case) and how we think this concept would work and how, in a hypothetical reality where we made it real, we would test to see if it worked.
Anyways we had to post the rough draft of our presentations so people in other groups could see what we were doing and comment on them with their thoughts and all. Yknow. Classic 'college class discussion board have to reply to at least one project with quality feedback' stuff. And
Man.
I am so frustrated.
Highlights:
My group keeps insisting that we should have an app for the solar fridges. I don't know why they think app design needs to fit into community fridges but they put it into the draft posted to the forum.
In this case they proposed the app would be kinda like Instacart? Where people who want to donate to the fridges but don't have groceries on them and don't feel like going to get groceries can put in money and then people will then go buy the groceries to put in the fridge. Or use the funds to help with fridge maintenance. And the fridges would have 'QR codes, links, etc. to connect community members for the common cause of helping tackle food insecurity in the community.'
Lots of the comments were pretty good! People liked the idea. There were some concerns about insulation and keeping things cool with low energy cost (the program is online but the college itself is in Georgia USA so many people are in Georgia) but yknow.
But the frustrating part to me I guess is that a lot of people seem convinced that people would use the fridges 'unfairly' and that we'd need to find a way to restrict how much food people can take out or how many times they can use it or something. Which frankly in my opinion defeats the purpose of it being a community fridge. Here are some examples of things people have said so far (comments are due tomorrow evening but I'm mad now so I'm venting now):
One student said "How will you know if the pantry is being utilized fairly?" and "How will the app work? In a dream world, this might be a way to help with tracking and accountability. (Just a thought…) Maybe folks would need to sign up on the app, they get a code… and the fridge acts as a sort of vending machine to deliver what they need. This would give you data to measure success. :)"
Which. I just. This feels completely antithetical to the purpose of a community fridge??? Or a community anything???? Little free pantries and little free libraries don't operate on a 'you get a code to access it once' vending machine basis?? We even mentioned community farm stalls/community pantries in the draft write up! And showed examples!
Another student said "Great thoughts. I am concerned about one person taking all the food for themselves. It might be a great idea to have them in an enclosed area with access control through the app that would log and lock out people who are overusing the resource. Perhaps a barcode could be added to Apple Wallet to track each individual's arrival? Possibly having a mechanized lock and opening mechanism that would only allow each fridge to be open for a specific time before automatically closing and locking? Each scan would only allow access once each 24-48 hour period, preventing "password sharing.""
I cannot emphasize enough that this is the comment that has brought me here today because with all due respect what the flying fuck do you think is the point of a community fridge! I'm already prickly about the idea of limiting access to the fridge itself to only people with cellphones, but to this degree?! Like maybe its because I'm the one who came up with the concept and I care about terms like 'mutual aid' and 'community building' and 'judgement free accessibility to food' but have these people not heard of the concept of helping people?!?! With no strings attached?!? If someone takes all the contents of a community fridge or pantry--which, seriously, how likely is that--they're probably hungry and need it! The concept of putting community resources behind a lock and limiting accessibility is just repulsive to me???
Like someone else commented with this excellent point--"As several have addressed above, I am also wondering how would you monitor use? If you use the simplicity of the honor system, it could easily be taken advantage of. However, I feel like if you were to create some sort of access code, how is it to say that they people needing the use of the fridge will have access to the necessary technology to get the code? It's a tricky situation to think about." For the purposes of this hypothetical assignment where we'd need to track how many people are using the fridges? Yeah I guess we'd need to be able to track how many people use it and when. But in reality??? In real life reality where people are living and struggling and hungry??? I just don't really give a shit!! Helping five people is better than helping none, and locking access behind technology everyone pretends is universal but really isn't is not the way to help!
And of course one of my groupmates is already commenting on all these posts like 'oh! I really like the idea of restricting access to a code! :)' even when someone said 'hey my family struggled with food insecurity when I was a kid and I think this would be helpful but not if you could only access it with an app some of the most vulnerable citizens wouldn't be able to access it I wouldn't have been able to access it' my groupmate was still like 'oh but that wouldn't be a problem today now would it? :) Maybe we should make a way to get a code without downloading the app :)' like maybe there shouldn't be an access code in the first place?!?!
Like am I crazy or like. What the fuck. Again I am here so I don't blow up on a bunch of masters students in a discussion post but like UGH
"you gotta be able to gague if the people who're using it are the people who actually need it" food insecurity can look so many different ways for so many different reasons and you can't always judge by appearances and income levels who is struggling to feed themselves or their families!! There are people who have nice jobs who are struggling because they're caring for sick family members or kids or dealing with student loans or ANYTHING! There are people with nice clothes who are trying to decide between buying groceries and paying rent! There are people living in their cars or couch surfing looking for jobs who also happen to own an XBox or a Laptop!!! "Sorry you can't access the community fridge because you don't look poor and needy enough to me. but if you do, good news--you can only use it once every 48 hours so make it last!" Bullshit utter bullshit.
I talk to people in my life about things like community fridges and little free pantries and mutual aid and the like and people are always like 'ok but theres gotta be strings attatched' BUT ACTUALLY NO THERE DON'T GOTTA!!! Maybe we could change how we view our fellow human beings and stop assuming that everyone around you are greedy little demons looking to ruin everything good and that you are the only holy and righteous saint on the streets who understands the concept of 'community resources' and 'sharing' maybe??? It's like that post about community fruit trees where people are like 'oh but what if people steal all the fruit' like HELLO? how do you STEAL a PUBLICALLY ACCESSIBLE RESOURCE
I'm tired of this goddamn class I'm tired of this goddamn group project if anyone actually has the ability to make a solar powered community fridge you have to promise to keep it accessible and not put it behind locks and QR codes and limited access and facial tracking BS promise me promise me promise me
#out of queue#community fridge#i am going to go INSANE this class is driving me INSANE have yall not HEARD OF ACCESSIBILITY#AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES????#ani rambles#solarpunkani is solarpunkangy

Okay, everyone, I'm just going to go off about this book because I really, really need to vent. This is a book that was a bestseller, that received multiple starred reviews in major publications, that was named one of the best romance novels of the years by many outlets, and by the end I didn't just think it was a bad book, I, like, actively hated this book. I learned an important lesson that I am not going to like this author's books and so I never need to read any of them again, but most of the time I read bad books and I just get frustrated by how bad they are but this one was SO bad to me that I have to get it out.
There are obvious spoilers for the book below and I wasn't going to mention the book title because I didn't want to upset people who really, really loved this book (AND THERE ARE CLEARLY MANY, MANY OF THOSE PEOPLE), but then I was like, "Should I tell people I'm about to spoil this book???" and then I was like, You know what? I suspect my experience of this book is SO different from how everyone else seems to be experiencing this book that it's going to seem like I'm talking about a different book. (Although there are some details too specific to make up.)
THIS IS JUST BULLET POINTS BECAUSE I COULDN'T GET ANY MORE COHERENT THAN THAT. AND OMG NO ONE IS GOING TO READ THIS BUT ME lol it was more like therapy for getting through that
Alright, here you go, here is probably the most identifiable detail of the book, but the whole plot is driven by an entire two-hundred-person wedding getting food poisoning from a buffet that everyone ate but two people at the wedding. Okay, fine, I'm sure it can happen, I really wasn't bothered by that plot device. What I was bothered by is the book is very certain to tell all of us that the particular food poisoning involved wasn't caused by the preparation of the fish, and so the caterer can't be held responsible, and yet there are still several conversations within the book about how this food poisoning proves that you should be suspicious of buffets. I'm not saying you shouldn't be suspicious of buffets, but the food poisoning had nothing to do with the fact that it was a buffet and I guess we're all just supposed to forget that fact? And this was the recurring problem of the whole book. Things kept happening that made zero actual sense but apparently we were all just supposed to go along with it.
For instance, the very first event that the OTP does together on their Hawaiian vacation is they take a boat out to go "snuba" diving. Okay, fine, except...the hero suffers seasickness. The hero is in his thirties and we the readers are told he is widely traveled and so I feel like he would definitely know if he was prone to seasickness. Like, this isn't a rough sea where everyone is getting seasick, it's a pretty tame little boat. I happen to be a person who gets seasick. I feel like, if you have ever actually gotten seasick, you would probably avoid putting yourself in that situation ever again. At least, that's what I do. Because motionsickness is horrible. But the hero mentions nothing about how he gets seasick, and then by the end of the boat ride he's throwing up while the heroine tenderly brushes at his hair. Okay, ymmv, this was not something I considered romantic since at this point these people, we are told, still "hate" each other. But also, like, motionsickness ruins my entire day. Once you get it, you can't just easily shake it off once you're on dry land, like, it lingers and it's awful. But okay, I'm willing to believe other people get seasick in more appealing manners than I get seasick. I still think it's weird that this guy wouldn't have mentioned that he doesn't want to do a boat activity. There were a million other choices. I guess maybe we were meant to believe he was too proud to confess this weakness to the heroine??? Idk, the book itself didn't seem to think it was weird and didn't contemplate the issue very much at all. (Also, the heroine keeps the hero belowdecks on the boat for his seasickness, which I think is the opposite of what you're supposed to do, I think you're supposed to go somewhere you can focus on the horizon? But I'm not an expert on how to cure it, I just know when I feel that way I really, really want fresh air, so the idea of being stuck inside made me feel queasy.) We don't get much clarification of this because the book is first-person POV from the heroine's POV, and the heroine's not seasick, so I guess she doesn't think very hard about the situation. But the heroine apparently does somehow magically know every name of every single tropical fish because she details them all for the reader during the snuba expedition and I'm like, ...I do not buy that this woman from Minnesota who doesn't ever express any other interest in fish knows the name of every single tropical fish encountered in Hawaii. That's the problem with first-person POV.
Okay, whatever, so far these are all minor things, who cares? I haven't talked yet about the fact that these people are from Minnesota, they fly to Hawaii for vacation, and they meet not one, but two vitally important people from their Minnesota lives. One of the people they meet is the heroine's brand new boss. Who literally wakes her up from a doze at the spa where she is relaxing. If my new boss woke me up while I was wrapped in a robe at a spa, I feel like I would immediately be thinking, oh, great, this guy is a creep and now I need to find a new job. Like, this is all portrayed as if the guy is just a nice guy, and I guess he is, but I find it deeply odd that he woke up a sleeping woman in a robe to be like, "Hey! Fancy meeting you here! I just interviewed you last week for that job!" And then the new boss is like, "Oh, we should have dinner together!" And I get that the heroine felt like she couldn't refuse, but also, god, this new boss is terrible. Why would he bother this brand new employee he has literally met ONCE for like thirty minutes on her vacation????? God, I was so annoyed by this plot twist both because it seemed deeply stupid to me but also because the heroine doesn't think it's at all weird or inappropriate or even annoying that this guy is doing this. Meanwhile this new boss is like alllll up in this woman's private life and I just don't find anything about this appropriate, this seems like a million HR violations to me, I just would be like, god, this is a horrible place to work.
Oh, and then, right after we get the new boss out of the way, we run into...the hero's ex-fiancee with her new fiance. Really???? At the same hotel at the same time????? Okay, fine, we'll just go along with the coincidences, fine. But! In the face of the fact that this hotel is crawling with people they don't want to have to interact with, our intrepid hero and heroine keep going to the hotel restaurant to eat. WHY. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS. ORDER ROOM SERVICE. The book at least tries to explain this by the heroine saying once that she refuses to pay the $12 room service surcharge, but I'm just like, God, I would do it at least once or twice to save me having to interact with all these terrible people. Literally every time they went to eat they had to endure an excruciating conversation. And they agreed that the conversations were excruciating! So why were they willingly subjecting themselves to these conversations!
So then a rainy day arrives. They're like, oh, noooooo, we can't go to the beach! (we will ignore the fact that they NEVER ONCE WENT TO THE BEACH THIS ENTIRE HAWAIIAN VACATION WHATEVER) What will we dooooooo. So I'm like, ....can't you go back to the spa? There's a spa. That's where the creepy boss woke the woman up to be creepy. Instead of going to the spa, they decide.........to go play paintball in the mud. Look, clearly these people are just people who want to make very different choices with their lives than I want to make, it's fine, it happens, whatever.
The next day the hero's like, "I want to get drunk." Okay, fine. Instead of doing this on the resort, he decides to do this in a local dive bar. Okay, fine, I guess it's about the cost? (The trip was "all expenses paid" but I wasn't clear on what they meant since it clearly didn't include room service.) But...the guy got so drunk he couldn't drive back, and so the woman really couldn't drink because she was the designated driver, and maybe she didn't mind, but I still think it's a weird life choice to be like, "I am going to drink myself into oblivion and make you sit here with me dealing with my drunk self." I mean, she thought this was all very charming, so again, I was just very much not the target audience for this book.
But the bigger issue for me with this book was not that I didn't understand any of the choices any of the characters made, but that is was just so badly written. I mean, partly that comes out in all of these previous issues, because if it had been written better, maybe I'd understand all that stuff happening. But for a romance novel, I do not understand how little romance was in this story????? It was so, so deeply weird to me. Like, every time they had a disagreement, we read all about it, but all of the times they got along happened off-page. So we've got like this whole day they spend together that is just like, "It was awesome, he was great, I couldn't believe what a good time I had." That's....I need more than that? He was great how? What did he say? What did you talk about? There was this throwaway line that they both love books, but, like, the entirety of this was because he understood a Harry Potter reference. She referenced horcruxes and he knew what she meant and she's like, I'm so glad he loves books like I do! What???? I never saw any evidence the heroine loved books -- again, they go to Hawaii and she spends zero time reading by the pool -- and he did seem to spend some time reading but we never learned what book and she never displayed the slightest interest in asking him about it. And instead in every single scene she would be like, I'd never seen him smile so much! And she would make this observation, like, during each successive outing they went on together. I guess maybe he was smiling more and more??? But I'm like, Why is she so amazed every time he smiles! He does it on every page!!! It was just so, like, Idk, I found it kind of insulting actually, but I know probably a lot of people just wouldn't think so hard about it. But I was like, ...all you can think of to prove these two people belong together is to tell me he smiles a lot and to assume I think he doesn't smile when he's not with her?
And the real, real, real problem with this, and the reason why I ended up hating the book so much by the end, is that I have no reason to be rooting for these people as a couple because I don't care about them and then the hero's brother, who happens to be a huge jerk who has been cheating on the heroine's sister their entire relationship, proves himself to be a jerk by propositioning the heroine, and when the heroine tells the hero he's like, "I don't believe you. You're reading this wrong. You're a mean, bitter person who always thinks the worst of people." Like, WOW. If that's how this guy feels about this woman....why would you date him???? And to her credit she breaks up with him, but then the whole rest of the book (which isn't very many pages, only like forty or so) is all about how much she misses him and blah blah blah and I'm just like, ...he was boring, you were boring together, find a better guy who doesn't say things like that to you. Like, I was actively upset that this woman couldn't see how awful this guy was to her, and that this was supposed to be the happy ending.
But then again, as I reached the end of the book I realized that everyone in this book was just awful all the time but it's like I was supposed to think they were nice. Like, on her very first day at work, her weird creepy boss fires her because she lied about being married when he ambushed her at the resort. DUDE. THAT'S NOT YOUR BUSINESS ANYWAY. WHY ARE YOU ALL INVOLVED WITH HER LIFE LIKE THIS!!! So, she loses her job. It's devastating. She comes home from work and her entire family is at her apartment and I'm like, oh, no, they're going to want to hear all about her big day. But no. They didn't. They were in her apartment....just because they like to be there? Like, NO ONE asked her how her day was. Zero. Zip. Imagine starting a new job and not a single member of your family -- not your mom, not your twin sister, not your cousins you're supposedly super close to -- asks you how it went. Okay, so then the family does come in handy because a cousin gives her a job waitressing, and she realizes that...now she doesn't really need to find another job? I guess this waitress job pays really well and comes with health insurance, so great for her, BUT ALSO she was just out of work for two months. We heard all about how it took her two months to find this brand new job and she was desperate and freaking out...and she loses this new job and there are zero repercussions. Why....didn't she just...waitress.....during the previous two months......?????? I was so confused but that seems like a minor point because THEN, her entire family helps set up another ambush where they help this guy show up at her place of work to loudly and publicly proclaim his love for her. Okay, so, like, I love that bit in Love Actually when Colin Firth shows up at the restaurant to declare his love for the waitress, even though it is objectively absurd, but this really squicked me out because, as I have already said, this guy's last statement to her was to tell her how awful she is, and rather than taking her side her family is clearly like, well, you're never going to find another guy so we'll have to get you that one back even though he was awful to you. And even though his brother was cheating on her sister and now everyone knows that and they're getting a divorce!! Like, I know the hero wasn't cheating but it seems so messy to me to have to constantly be interacting with my sister's cheating ex-husband, like, I had better really like the guy to do that and, as has previously been detailed, I definitely did not care about this guy enough to do that and I did not think they had anything as a couple that was worth fighting for this relationship. They dated for like a week when they got back from Maui. And then her family manipulated her into this public apology and I was just so grossed out by it, like, this woman was constantly being ambushed by people!! OH, AND ALSO, the best, most awkward part of the whole thing is the family somehow also invited the creepy boss so he could see that actually the heroine DOES love the hero and so now she deserves to be hired again???????? WHAT???????
But! I realized! That this book thinks that's charming, because in the happy-ever-after epilogue there's this whole bit where the heroine's sister doesn't want to go zip-lining and the heroine bullies her into doing it by being like, "You have to be willing to take risks!!!!!" And I think we were supposed to see this as like, The heroine learned a lesson about risk-taking! First of all: What? What lesson? What risk did she take? Taking back a guy who immediately said horrible things about her and was constantly trying to gaslight her about his brother (she knew the brother was lying to her sister but the hero kept telling her she was wrong about that, and he really never fully apologized for that or acknowledged he was unfair to her????)? Was that the great incredible risk she took? Second of all, god, could the people in this book stop bullying other people! lol I felt like I spent the whole book cringing wishing that people would just be nice to each other.
EVEN WORSE this epilogue was from the POV of the hero and I just could not abide being in his head. He kept saying "my girlfriend," "my girlfriend" over and over and it just felt like so much and I still didn't get the impression even from within his head that he really cared about the heroine or they got along well or anything, like, Idk, it was just such a weird book with such a weird vibe, when I finished it I felt so sad for these unhappy people hahahah god, just an awful reading experience.
ALSO this is so minor and again I think other people think this was charming, but the heroine's name was Olive and for some reason the hero was always calling her Olivia. This was before they got together, before they were friends, like, the day he met her he just decided he would call her a totally different name???? And I guess this WAS supposed to be charming and cutesy???? Idk, it was so weird how it landed for me, like, I was like, Call her by her name. And it's weird because I love nameplay! I was like, "God, is Eames this annoying in Inception and I never noticed???" Like, probably, but I find him charming and for some reason I did not find this guy in this book charming at all, like, the whole thing really annoyed me AS YOU CAN TELL lol I think maybe the wrong-name thing would have been cuter to me if he ever seemed to respect her in any way but to me he just never seemed to be a nice guy. At the dinner he went to with her new boss, he immediately told the boss the heroine's most embarrassing childhood story, which he does knowing that she hates it, and she's annoyed that he does it, but then she's like, But wow, I didn't expect him to even remember that much about me! I feel like that is honestly this book in a microcosm lol

Project Eden's Garden CH 1 thoughts
hey so this probably isn't gonna be coherent at all cause i just finished the chapter and it took my like 12 hours to finish it so i have not slept but i just need to get my thoughts out lol
uh anyway major spoilers for the whole chapter you have been warned
so for the chapter as a whole i had a great time playing it! you can really see all the love and care put into this project. that being said, this chapter was CARRIED by it's deadly life/trial section, at least in my opinion. the daily life wasn't like terrible by any means it just didn't feel like a whole lot happened? the days felt really short, like the day you explore the new area is literally, wake up, meet in the dining hall briefly, explore the new area, and then go to bed. i was like ????? how is the day already done what. and then when the motive was introduced it was a bit lackluster, the concept was really cool with the pictures and the vague messages for the blackmail, but then we barely find out what anyone's information and the few people we do find out isn't super bad (expect for wolfgang kind of, maybe?), hell damon is not once concerned about the motive and none of the other characters seem all that concerned about it either which i think kinda brings the tension and stakes down. it's pretty evident when you find out the killer's motive as nothing to do with the blackmail and they weren't even concerned over their own blackmail so they have to create an entirely separate motive with the whole traitor perk thing, and it's not like that came out of thin air cause you're told about the secret prize from the get go i just don't get why they didn't use the motive they already made instead of revealing it all at the end of the trial from tozu.
ok whoops getting kind of off topic there but yeah daily life, it just felt like there could have been more, maybe it just has to do with the kind of guy damon is, but it kind of felt like we were dragging our feet from time to time idk maybe im just insane.
as for deadly life, holy shit they made some ballsy decisions here. can't really say whether they were good ones yet or not since we still have 5(?) more chapters but i have to respect the devs for who the first victim and killer ended up being (i'll get to them later). i remember thinking (man this is a pretty long investigation lol), although it probably didn't help that it took me forever to find the blood in the hallway i was genuinely so confused as to what i was missing I went back into all of the storage closets and like triple checked i had exgauhsted all dialogue, and then i was trying the move my mouse all over the place to see if there was anything else to search and then i finally found it.
the trial was so fucking fun, as devastated as i was due to who the victim was it was a ton of fun figuring out the crime and i genuinelly thought it was gonna be diana and i was gonna be done with the trial in about 2 hours and only to hit and intermission and realize i hadn't used like half my evidence yet. the mechanism of the crime was really cool too and i had a lot of fun solving it, even if i did start to lose the plot when it came to the stuff of the cord and the vent but that might've just been me being tired. I will say i did not enjoy the bullet hell argument whatever it's called at the very end, the artwork was really cool but it took me FOREVER to beat it, and myabe that's just cause i'm bad at video games but ti was so frustrating getting to stage 3 multiple times then loosing all of my health and having the start all over again. i think it would have been better if you run of of health you have to start from the beginning of whatever stage you died on but hey maybe i just suck at the game idk.
okay now on to some more character specific stuff, first of all WOLFGANG AKIRE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU GAHHHH
ugh i'll admit it, i'm actually devastated he died first like seriously thank god the trial was as good as it was cause i might have stopped playing if it wasn't lol. in all seriousness though i was so excited for how he'd handle someone killing and all of the reprecussions with that only for him to die first lol. i really hope that this isn't the last we get to hear about him though, like i hope he's not just like a passing thought in ch 2 and then never mentioned again kind of a thing like hopefully he'll be plot relevant in the future or something idk i just want more wolfgang he's my fav BRING HIM BACKKKK. maybe we'll get to learn more about him through grace cause i'm now like 99% sure they knew each other before this whole mess lmao i mean come on grace wanted to be roomies with him and she was so fucking devastated by him dying and didn't want people poking around his room like come on.
and just everything you find out about his situation in the trial is just devastating oh my godddd. i was really worried they were gonna pull the whole "omg guys wolfgang was killed in self-defense and he was actually terrible this whole time and you all should have believed me(damon) cause i was right all along memememememe" and they didn't thank god. just that whole scene where diana reveals their confrontation was just so good like that is one of my top fangan scenes of all time now. just all the stuff he was saying revealing stuff about his character that might NEVER BE ELABORATED ON CAUSE HES FUCKING DEAD NOW WTFFFF WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS. and the voice acting was fucking incredible holy shit NAD THE FUCKING SPRITE WORK OH MY GOD THAT SHIT WAS AMAZING. the sprites for wolfgang and eva (i'll get to her later) were so fucking good i mean just look at this shit
LIKE THIS IS DEVESTATING TO ME LIKE HOLY FUCK BRO I NEED TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON IN UR HEAD AND NOW I NEVER WILL CAUSE UR DEAD UGHHHHHH
it's really funny cause i actually ended up doing all of his FTEs not knowing he was gonna die
now let's talk about eva cause holy fuck girl. i remember after the prologue she was one of my least favorite characters, cause it felt like her whole personality was "ooooo look at how mysterious and cool I am ooooooooo", but then you get the reveal that she lied about being the ultimate liar and you get her normal talent and she actually shows an actual personality and is a video game nerd i was like "omg yes i'm loving the p:eg team's take on this!" and she was moving up my character tier list ranking very quickly, and then she was revealed as the killer and she tried to pin everything on damon and then her reasons for killing wolfgang in the first place and she went right back down to the bottom LMAO. not because i thought she had bad writing or something but at the end of the day her motivations for taking the perk were pretty selfish and while i agree that wolfgang shouldn't have been trying to isolate her like that she kind of put a target on herself for no reason by lying about her talent like girl what did you think was going to happen lol. also her execution was fucking brutal, it looked incredible but damn was it brutal, she didn't need to go out like that omg.
as for some other characters, always gonna love my girls grace and cassidy they were a delight as always and i look forward to seeing more of them, diana went up on my tier list and i'm looking forward to seeing where her character goes from here, i'm also really loving jean a lot but he feels a little too helpful so i fear he might die next chapter lol.
i feel like there's more i have to say but im so tried lol so yeah have whatever this is lol. overall i had a great time playing and everyone did an amazing job working on it (even if i am really upset you killed my fav), i look forward to whatever the next chapter brings!

Sorry to jump in on all the Till stuff that’s happening—I’m sure you’re probably getting your fair share of asks about it, but I think a lot of non-Americans (and Americans alike) don’t actually understand that Mar-A-Lago is, yes, a pay-for-membership type place, but it doesn’t look like Till actually…stayed there. Not only was the visit seemingly kinda last minute (I’m inferring here based on the caption of one pic/vid literally being ‘impromptu’) but it also wouldn’t necessarily be his decision where to perform, and Mar-A-Lago rents out spaces for private events. More than likely, whoever was running his event booked the place because of its proximity to larger areas of Florida (like artists booking in cities like Buffalo or Hoboken to allow for people from NYC and surrounding larger areas to come without the issues that a big city may impose onto a touring artist).
Anyway, just my thoughts as a USAmerican Till fan. Am I disappointed? Sure; his newest mv hit a bit weird and it’s not super cool to see the guy who wrote “Amerika” and “Links 2 3 4” at Mar-A-Lago. But even so, I don’t think he intends to actually hurt anybody or stir up controversy—not in this case, anyway. I think any provocative thing he does is specifically in the name of artistry just like it seems to be with the rest of the band (ehem. Pussy, the onstage dildo antics, etc).
I think he’s aging and trying to figure out what he as a 62 year old icon wants to do and where he wants to be. But I don’t think it’s fair to scrutinize every single thing he does—if we did that for every metal musician, we would be hard pressed by some pretty superfluous stuff. Not to discount anybody’s anger, but some of the stuff the fandom has been getting upset about seems pretty silly, in my opinion. He isn’t the first musician to use AI nor is he the first to use a mv to vent his personal frustrations—we can say it could’ve been done better (because it could have!) but what’s done is done, and here’s hoping he learns from this.
Basically, all this to say: as a very anti-Trump, leftist American, I really don’t fault him for the Mar-A-Lago thing. I went to school next to one of the Trump hotels, and it was never a big deal when people like Ariana Grande or the Kardashians stayed there or rented out the private rooms (this is actually anecdotal, this happened a LOT). I think we have more important things to deal with than why one of our faves happened to step foot within a specific part of Florida when he’s been outspoken about anti-fascism and his own personal dislike of the current administration. Sorry that this ended up as more of a vent than a short ask, your blog is one of my faves and I feel comfortable getting it all out here <3
Hi 👋🏻
I had this ask in my inbox five times - either you really wanted me to answer it, or Tumblr had a glitch 😄
I'll go through your message step by step and add my thoughts as bullet points:
- I do understand that Mar-a-Lago is essentially a resort or a hotel or something in that direction (I wasn’t assuming Till was staying there permanently in the sense of sleeping there or anything like that). Until 2017, even the Red Cross held an annual charity ball there. However, my main association with the estate was the FBI’s 2022 search, which was also covered in German media.
- Whether Till actually has a choice in selecting where he sings/performs is a valid point. Especially when abroad, one often has to rely on locals who know the area.
- Personally, I also don’t believe he intentionally wants to offend people with his actions. However, I do think that sometimes a little more mindfulness or willingness to inform oneself before making decisions would be appropriate.
- As I mentioned previously, I see it similarly: one shouldn’t lose their mind over every little thing - that’s unhealthy for one’s mental well-being. And, as I said in the past few days, if we applied the highest moral standards to everything, we wouldn’t be able to consume a lot of music, films, art, and books.
- I can’t comment on his new music video because I’ve only seen snippets. I understand that the use of artificial intelligence doesn’t sit well with many people, but not everything has to be to one’s liking.
- I appreciate getting an American perspective. As a European, I mostly hear about Trump through the news, where he comes across as a rather pleasant unperson and politician, bulldozing his way through global politics. Honestly, that’s quite off-putting and makes anything associated with him seem very fishy.
So, thank you for taking the time to write out your opinion in such detail! In discussions like these, it's important to engage in a structured and respectful exchange of thoughts 🤲🏻

Ghost huffs a breath, impressed at the way you all move so cohesively. Price chuckles.
“This is what I want from you buggers. For ya to actually listen to what I say.”
“Good luck, Cap” is Soap’s only reply.
They watch the five of you shoot the targets again and again, all of you with impressive accuracy. Scope is leading in that regard, with you hot on her heels. The rest aren’t that far behind, but it’s clearly not their area of expertise. It has been a long few weeks of training, using a variety of weapons and attack styles, everyone trying to show their skills to the others. You step up to each and every challenge, just like the rest of your team, but you (as always) do it with ease, as if you’d been training for a hundred years specifically for this. You push yourself and those around you to heights that no one thought possible. Ghost’s pretty sure that some records have been broken so far, the majority by you - not that he’d say anything about that to your face. As the five of you finish up, your score tallies, and your team have a slightly higher total than the 141. Despite grumblings that there’s a fifth person on your team, and therefore it doesn’t count, you decide to take the win anyway.
“Anything else you want to look at Price?” He considers your question, before shaking his head. “Alright then team, you know what time it is.”
Most of them groan, knowing exactly what you mean. You turn to the rather confused task force, before explaining that every time you do any training, there’s a mandatory stretching session after. It helps loosen and strengthen muscles, keep up flexibility, and reduce stress, all of which you need in this line of work.
“Want to join us?” You offer. Despite Jester vehemently shaking his head behind you, they hesitantly agree, and you all march off back to the gym.
“Jesus fucking Christ.” Soap is sure that he can feel muscles where muscles shouldn’t be, and from the looks of it, his team are equally struggling. Jester shakes his head. “I tried to warn you, ya know? Every time this happens, the newbies feel like they’ve been run over, and look it too. They’re a real menace sometimes.” You chuckle at the strange but true analogy, before wiping your face with a towel. The 141 can’t help but notice how the rest of your team clearly felt the stretching, but it didn’t affect them nearly as much. You, on the other hand, had contorted yourself into some terrifying positions, and yet you are now walking around as if it was nothing. The way your body twisted, how your muscles flexed to keep you stable, the look of concentration on your face - they noticed all this and more. And, yes, it was hot, but it was also very impressive. Their curiosity is hitting an all time high, and they quiz you at every opportunity during dinner. Yet somehow, like the past two weeks, you methodically and expertly evade every attempt at discovering something personal. While they know a fair bit about your interactions with others, anything before the formation of your team is an absolute mystery, and it annoys the hell out of them. The frustration is vented and well expressed that night in the barracks: how the hell can someone be so secretive?
“Not even Lt’s that bad! Come on, we at least knew your name when you joined us. Crazy.” Gaz mutters, rearranging his pillows for the umpteenth time.
“I hate to say it, but he’s right. I did keep it vague, but you got some answers, whereas this one’s telling us fat nothin. Look. I hate to be the one to say it, and they seem real capable, and haven’t given us any bad signs, but can we really trust ‘em? I can’t help but feel like they’re holding out on us.” Everyone pauses to think about what Ghost said. Price sighs, rubbing the bridge of his nose tiredly.
“I dunno Si, but I don’t think we have a choice on this one. The mission’s tomorrow, ok, so let’s just get it done and get them out the way. They’re too much of a distraction.” That last bit was mumbled rather quieter than everything else, but despite that, the rest of the team heard it, and agreed.
“Yeah. Let’s just get it over with.”
Tightening the straps of your uniform, you slowly and methodically attach all your weapons, before triple checking that your shirt is the specific one that doesn’t burn when you use your magic. You check up on your team again, and make sure the 141 haven’t got any new news or changes in the plan. As you all make your way over to the cars, the tension becomes palpable. Before every mission the mood will darken: that’s a fact. It suddenly occurs to the others that they could easily die out there, that this may be their final moments. Silence as you climb into the trucks, silence as you drive. Keeping an eye out for landmarks as you approach your destination, you stop just before a ridge, pulling over and getting out. As Jester cloaks himself and sneaks over the ridge, Ghost hides in the shadows and goes the other way. A few minutes pass and they come back. After a brief discussion of what they saw, you all decide to stick with the plan. There seems to be a gap in the security; it’s small, but it’s there, and hopefully you can use it to sneak in. Minutes crawl by as you move slowly over towards the window of opportunity, inching closer and closer. The fence is within reaching distance now, and Price uses his fire to heat the wire. One of his claws extends, and he slowly drags it down, cutting the links of the fence. Peeling it back, they start to crawl through. Any active magic from your part will trigger an alarm, notifying everyone that you’re here, so you’re keeping it to a minimum until necessary. Gaz is the last one through, but just as he’s halfway clear, his wings get stuck in the fence and he has to stop. You dash out from where you’re all hiding, hurriedly pulling the feathers free. The security guards are going to round the corner in a few seconds, and you can’t be seen. Hearts racing, you finally get the last one free and yank him through, practically throwing him at the others. You hurriedly bend the metal back into what you hope will hide the hole in it, before sprinting over and chucking yourself around the corner at the last minute. You all tense as the security guards pass, chatting away blissfully. Taking deep breaths to steady your heart rates, you make eye contact with Gaz and signal to ask him if he’s ok. One shaky nod and a dismissed thank you later, you can finally move on. Sneaking as best you can, Scope peels off in one direction to get into position, and Jester a few minutes later. Despite stopping every few minutes to hide from the oncoming guards, you all make relative headway, nearing the labs step by step. Jester finally calibrates the necessary machinery, allowing your comms to listen in on the chatter in the room you’re aiming for. Through the mix of scientific lingo and bubbling chemicals, you can discern the noises of four guards, shifting around the room and keeping an eye on the scientists. It’s hard to tell how many scientists are in there, but it seems to be somewhere between twelve and fifteen. Arctic and Crux, Ghost and Jonny, Price and Gaz, all heading in their separate directions. The plan is to flank the guards, allowing them no time to react or hurt anyone. A countdown, before you burst through the doors, and take down the guard whose back is to you. Hitting the back of his head hard, and yanking his knees out from under him, and letting him hit the floor hard. Looking up, you grin at the scientists.
“Heya folks. We’re here to get you out. Please follow us.”
You’ve nearly made it to the cars. The rest of your team have split from you, stopping any guards from getting too close, and tying up loose ends. You move as fast as you can, slinking through the hallways with urgency. The scientists follow as quietly as they can, but you can’t help but wince at every creak and mumbled word. You’re all meant to rendezvous at the trucks, and get the civilians out asap. Helping them scramble up the hill and over the ridge, you hop over just as the alarms go off. Tuning your earpiece, you call for your team. The 141 are all here, as well as the scientists, but your four are nowhere to be seen. You know that they were meant to meet you here, as they had split off a while ago, but the sooner they arrive, the sooner you get out. You tell yourself that you’re imagining the pit in your stomach, the nagging instinct that something is wrong, even as you are met with nothing more than static and radio silence. With the scientists in the truck that’s being driven away by another agent, the 141 gather around you, listening to your one sided conversation.
“Misfits, come in. Misfits, this is Thanatos, do you copy? I repeat, do you copy?”
You call their code names, switch onto the private channel, calling them over and over. Eventually, Price puts a hand on your shoulder, stopping you.
“M sorry, but they can’t hear you.”
“What do you wanna do?” Soap asks, cocking his head in a concerned manner. You don’t reply straight away, thinking out your possible options. Static bursts through your earpiece, and you open up comms again.
“Misfits, are you there?”
“Hello Thanatos.”
The 141 watch as a shadow passes over your face. This is the first time they have seen you and you aren’t smiling, and it’s terrifying.
“You have something of mine.”
“Do I?”
Everyone listens in horror as Arctic’s voice can be heard faintly.
“Don’t!
Don’t we’re fine RUN!”
A loud blow, and he falls silent.
“You’re right, I think I do.
Want them back?”
You don’t say anything, hoping that whoever has your team will let something slip.
“No?
even if you did,
do you think
you would get them back
sane?
However long it takes you to plan will be
too long.”
Suddenly you’re smiling again. Not for joy, but because you’ve found a weak point. A predatory grin, sharpening your features. Deciding to play into it, you speak, not needing to fake the slight tremor in your voice.
“How much time do I have?”
“Don’t be a
fool. Not enough time.
I will break them.
I have heard about you.
I hear you’re strong. Not strong enough.
But please. Try to save them.
I would like to watch you fail. Fall. Die trying.”
“You’re kind of stupid aren’t you?” You can practically hear them fume, clearly not the expected reaction. “I’ll get them back. And people will die. But not me. Not them. You. I’m coming for my team. And I’m coming for your head. Start praying.” You yank out your earpiece, chucking it to Ghost before turning back towards the facility.
“Wait! What are you doing?”
You stop before turning back towards them slightly.
“You heard what I did, right? They have my team, and I’m getting them back.” You turn fully, and they tense when they see your eyes start to glow an electric blue.
“No
matter
what.”

Longwinded rant about why i hate fandom culture on TikTok specifically.
I'll cut the post bc its gonna be looooong and full of me cursing AND talking about pretty dark things so yeah
Keep in mind i'm not talking about EVERYONE on tt. i'm talking about the rapidly growing section of newer people in fandom that don't think about what they say and how it affects people.
Ill be using examples of fandoms i was in/know a lot about just to make things more simple. don't expect an award winning essay im just venting my frustrations
TW: Death/ rape threats, bullying, proshipping
The fandom culture on Tiktok specifically is a mess, and its greatly influenced by the general atmosphere there.
There is ABSOLUTELY NO filter for how downright fucking CRUEL people are in the comments/ duets of videos of fan work. You're generally just not allowed to have an opinion that differs from the mainstream.
Headcanons/ocs/fan redesigns/non canon ships are greatly frowned upon for... some reason? Those are the bread and butter of fandom and people just can't comprehend that. This is most prominent in more mainstream fandoms of big shows/ movies. (i've noticed it a lot in the arcane fandom but im not too deep in it so take that with a grain of salt)
More niche fandoms for the most part have always had a side to them that is... toxic to say the least. However, people have learned how to disregard/ ignore that subsection of those fandoms.
In large fandoms like FNAF, MHA, Undertale/ Undertale AUs and many more those sections were rampant and people outside those fandoms tended to characterize the entire fandom as such. It became popular to hate on those fandoms. But people IN the fandom could also realize the problems with them and did not asociate with the biggest offenders.
What REALY irks me about tt specifically is how violently people on there react to those subsections of fandoms. The same problems that plagues all older fandoms are now blown so VIOLENTLY blown out of proportion in newer ones you'd think they're leagues worse when in reality they're exactly the same.
I'll be using the Dandy's world fandom as an example because I'm currently in it and have firsthand experienced the way it got treated.
There is a MASSIVE hate boner for the dw community on tt right now. People are calling it a "gooner game" a "cringe fandom" and a lot of other things that would make people think the fandom/game is EXEPTIONALLY bad or something when in reality it's EXACTLY the same as most of its predecessors. TRUST ME the Undertale fandom back on 2016-2020 was leagues bigger and more awful than any modern fandom could dream of. The main complaint is the fandoms fixation on shipping. And my honest reaction is just WHY DO PEOPLE CARE SO MUCH??? NO ship is worth sending death/rape threats over. It's not acceptable to do that even to proshippers, for them you just report the video and DO NOT ENGAGE FURTHER.
The way people talk about/react to the fandom is fascinating to me because when you ask them WHY they're so pressed they either bring up Rox (a situation that was handled MONTHS ago), or just call it cringe which, yeah it's cringe its a ROBLOX MASCOT HORROR. OR they point to OBVIOUS ragebait.
The fandom OBVIOUSLY HAS PROBLEMS. EVERY GOD DAMN FANDOM DOES. All i'm saying is that in this fandom specifically people act like it's the end of the world/ worse than EVER before iN ANY FANDOM.
You're allowed to dislike things. but going as far as to call for harassment of people over a literal kids game is just unacceptable
I'll finish the rant here but for a final note
YOU'RE ALLOWED TO LIKE CRINGE/ BAD THINGS!!!! A PEACE OF MEDIA DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A MASTERPIECE FOR IT TO BE JUSTIFIABLE TO LIKE IT.

So because I saw someone like my initial post with Overdrive, for whatever reason he stayed in my brain and I was like “okay fine, I’ll attempt to design him again”
To be honest, I think generally he came out a lot better than last time, at least in the face. I’m not so sure on the rest, or more accurately, the arms
Drawing this I was like “oh dear god the TFO style is a pain”. Honestly I think my main issues are that these designs are some of the most 3D reliant with how boxy they are (like they’re some of the most toy-looking Transformers designs to me), and I’m not very experienced in that, and also I have this need to make the designs as simple as possible, even if the design ends up looking kind of plain, as seen here
Like I know generally how the TF One characters are built. They have a basic body of components and gears and stuff that’s all black, alongside a silver head piece (I don’t think there’s any outside of Shockwave or people with masks that have a non-silver face, but correct me if I’m wrong). Then on top of that they have pieces meant to cover that black skeleton, giving their body protection and making them individual. Like they’re thinner pieces of metal meant to go over their basic bodies. I don’t know how fully to describe it but I know how they work
I just don’t know how to draw that well. G1 is blocky but they’re made up of solid blocks, not pieces on top of a basic framework, and I struggle to figure out how it works
What was I saying? I think I got carried away there, sorry. Point is I’m bad at drawing Overdrive in this style and I kind of don’t like drawing it. It’s probably just an issue of me not being able to leave my comfort zone and being spoiled with TFA style yesterday
Unfortunately, Overdrive has to stay in this style because he’s specific to this universe
Anyways, moving on for real this time
So his design is now pretty heavily inspired by some Jetfire toys I found when looking for references to use (but mostly this first one)

It’s also the main basis for his color scheme this time around. Admittedly I do still think the red and white makes him look oddly similar to Ratchet, but oh well. Admittedly his design is allowed to at least have some blue paint, maybe I should give him some
But also one of the main bases of his head design here was another design I was making on the original, when I planned to expand the canvas and draw more. Unfortunately I got frustrated with posing blocks so I never did more, but I do have that one new addition now
His cockpit is yellow here because while I was testing out blue, I thought that with all the basis on Jetfire, he didn’t look enough like Starscream, so I gave him Starscream’s yellow. I ended up using the blue I was initially using on his eyes, which are the main reason they’re blue now
Not a lot of experimenting with the colors this time around, mostly since I didn’t want to lose the colors I was already using
Maybe I could have made his wing stripes black though? I’m realizing now that outside of his framework and vents, his design’s pretty much all reds and whites
I think his arms could probably do with more detail and refining as well. I just didn’t know how else to draw them
Now, as for other character things, I’ve settled on a few?
Like I think I’m gonna have him working on ground bridge technology. He does still work on going as fast as possible, but it’s more a personal thing. The things on his back are also experimental engines he made to go faster
He’s probably also banned from racing due to his technically illegal self-upgrades, which are at the very least illegal in the sport
But yeah, he’s on the bridge technology team, though admittedly he’s used more for his speed and general size. After the movie when their project can resume production again, he’s mostly used as the guy to scavenge parts and scout out good locations on the surface. Never mind the fact that he’s never really been on the surface before this, but he at least can make a quick getaway if need be
This is probably how he ends up encountering the Decepticons, or most importantly Starscream. They find him doing experiment stuff in the surface. My idea is that his team is trying to build a bridge portal up on the surface, given they know the technology works now. But also they’re kind of doing it in secret and possibly didn’t tell Optimus about it. But they’ve been causing stuff to happen with one of the Energon rivers up there for their portal (like redirecting it or making a dam or something, idk), which caused the Decepticons to take notice
Still not entirely sure on his personality, but I do know he takes great pride in his speed and no one being able to out-fly him. He also takes pride in his work as a scientist, both personal and professional. He may be a little too ambitious and intense on his plans for bridge technology, wanting to one day remote portal to distant galaxies, when they haven’t even tested if it can go to another receptor up on the surface yet. But he’s at least happy rambling about his projects
Honestly I think he currently reads as too Starscream, especially when Starscream has never been in his life, I feel like I need to add a bit more Skyfire in there. Just not sure how
But yeah, I think that’s about it on Overdrive for now. When will I continue? Who knows
#by the way his visor is still retractable#that’s why I have 2 versions of his look bc you’ll see either of them on him#idk if I should change his eye color or not#I also really wish Skyfire had an actual TFO design#it’d make my life so much easier#transformers#transformers one#transformers oc#skystar#overdrive#my art#my OCs#I forgot about that tag of mine tbh#fankid

I'm not sure if you've been asked this before, but could you do the chain with a reader that is very much NOT built for the outside world?? (ie has asthma, hayfever, and all the works that werent an issue back in their modern world...) if the chain is too much, than maybe specifically just wild or twilight haha. thank you so much if this is possible! I'm a new fan, but these characters have infested my brain lmao
Oh honey they would be on you 24/7 and I mean that literally.
Admittedly, they’ll each be slightly irritated with this situation, they don’t hold any ill will towards you having someone who isn’t suited for traveling or combat accompanying them isn’t making their job any easier.
But as time goes on and bonding happens, when their blossoming feelings start edging into obsessive devotion, they have some…realizations.
For one, you’re just so delicate, even in your own world you were faced with specific burdens that others just weren’t. And while these burdens may have been alleviated by things from your own world, in theirs you struggle greatly.
So of course this sparks the already existing fear of you leaving because they’re smart enough to know that you want to go back. And they understand, why wouldn’t you wish to return a place with remedies you couldn’t find in theirs?
But where they once felt slightly burdened by your presence, now they are burned by your absence. You occupy every their every waking thoughts and at night they’re blessed with dreams of you.
At this point it feels like their hearts beat just for you.
Suffice it to say, they aren’t willing to let you go, not in the slightest. So they overcompensate by making it so you don’t have to lift a finger.
When in battle you are their first priority, protecting each other or themselves be damned. No hard feelings though since everyone is on the same page about this.
And lets say you get winded easily when walking with the group.Don’t worry, Twilight always has a spot for you on Epona and if on the off chance he doesn’t then he’s totally willing to just carry you.
A little too willing at some points since you’re pretty sure he nearly got into a fist fight with the Captain over who got to carry you one time…
Any and all chores you previously did as a part of the routine set up in the group have been pushed aside onto the other, more willing boys. Particularly Wind, Wild, and Hyrule since those three have always wanted to impress you and have you look at them and only them and say you’re proud of them, preferably accompanied by a kiss-
Plus, you’ll have a buddy in Sky who can relate to your issues and is always there for you whenever you need someone to vent to about your frustrations.
Sometimes you feel bad for pulling him away from the others to talk about your problems, but you don’t see the side eye he gives the others and the way his lips curl into a triumphant smile.
Whenever you share the former thought with him though, he always brushes off your concern and just says that he wants you to be happy and seeing you feel a bit more calm after venting makes him more joyful than you can imagine. You don’t owe him anything, just keep letting him hold your hands while you talk and he’ll be fine~
All in all, they just want you to see this world as more appealing than your own. You won’t need to worry about your health when they’re around to take care of you, nor would you become stressed because of job or school.
They’ll handle everything and take care of you, all you need to do is stay.
